[Women’s World Cup] Germany must beat South Korea to reach the last 16… with plenty of time to spare
Germany’s players took it easy on Wednesday as they warmed up before their final FIFA World Cup 2023 group game against South Korea.토토사이트
Head coach Martina Posteclenburg’s squad held an hour-long official training session at Ferry Park in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on Tuesday. The first 15 minutes were open to the media.
The players slowly began to arrive on the training field, chatting for about 10 minutes after the scheduled start time.
When all 23 players gathered to start training, the German players and officials gathered in front of the goal for a group photo.
Eventually, the players, who started more than 20 minutes late, followed the coaching staff’s instructions and warmed up by exchanging passes.
Germany and South Korea will play their third World Cup Group H match at Brisbane Stadium at 7 p.m. ET on June 3.

For both teams, this could be the final game of the tournament.
After falling to Colombia and Morocco, South Korea needs to beat Germany by five goals to advance to the round of 16.
Germany, who won the first leg 6-0 against Morocco but lost the second leg 1-2 against Colombia, could also find themselves on the wrong end of a certain “what if” scenario.
If Morocco beats Colombia in the final Group H match, and Germany loses or draws with South Korea, Colombia and Morocco will qualify for the round of 16. The same thing happens if Morocco draws with Colombia and Germany loses to us.
Germany would have to beat South Korea to qualify for the round of 16 on their own.
Germany, ranked second in the FIFA rankings, is the undisputed powerhouse of women’s soccer.
They have the highest average height in Group H (172 centimeters). They have 17 players over 170 centimeters. The average height of our national team is 167.9 centimeters.
The player to watch out for is captain and leading goal scorer Alexandra Pope (Wolfsburg).

At last year’s European Women’s Football Championship (Women’s Euro 2022), she exploded for six goals to lead her team to the final.
She has been on the scoresheet in every game of the tournament, scoring twice against Morocco and once against Colombia.
“We have a very good team atmosphere,” Posteclenburg told reporters before training, “and we are enjoying the World Cup. Of course we want to beat (South Korea) and go to the round of 16.”
Questions about their opponents were rarely asked at the press conference. The German press mostly asked questions about the team’s mood and whether individual players would be included.
German midfielder Lena Oberdorf (Wolfsburg) said the “must win” pressure is actually helping.
“We lost the second leg, so now we have the pressure to win, which makes us play better. You can’t get too stretched,” Overdorf said.
