Toronto takes 3 of 4 from Baltimore after Ryu Hyun-Jin Ryu returns to action
Ryu Hyun-jin (Toronto Blue Jays)토토사이트 is back, but his team isn’t enjoying the “comeback effect. Ryu Hyun-jin made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut against the Baltimore Orioles at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on April 2 (ET).
After undergoing a tedious rehabilitation process following left elbow ligament splicing surgery (Tommy John surgery) in June last year, Ryu returned to the starting mound for the first time in a year and two months. Ryu gave up four runs in five innings on the day as Toronto fell to Baltimore, 3-13.
It was the second straight loss for the Jays, following a 2-4 loss the day before. They snapped the losing streak with a 4-1 win over Baltimore on the 3rd, but fell to the Orioles 1-6 when they met again on the 4th. This leaves Toronto with an unsatisfactory 1-3 record in its four-game home series with the Orioles.

Once again, the starting rotation was the problem. Kevin Gausman allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 4.1 innings.
Down 0-3, Toronto got a run back in the bottom of the sixth when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled with runners on first and second. However, Toronto was unable to get any closer.
Baltimore added runs in the bottom of the eighth and ninth innings to put an end to Toronto’s late-game rally. With the win, Baltimore remained in first place in the American League East with a 67-42 record, while Toronto remained in third place in the division with a 60-50 record.
The two teams were separated by 7.5 games. Toronto is in the midst of a 17-game homestand with no days off and is operating in a six-man rotation with Ryu.
Due to the schedule, Ryu’s second start after his return will likely be on the road against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 7.
