The last Taegeuk mark, heavy shoulders… the only third baseman is determined

 “I want to do well.”

Choi Jeong (SSG Landers, 36) is a regular member of the Korean national baseball team. Choi Jeong-eun, who wore the Taegeuk mark for the first time at the 2009 World Baseball Classic (WBC), was selected to the national team list at each international tournament and enjoyed moments of glory.

It is Choi Jeong who was selected for the national team in the WBC to be held in March. However, the situation is slightly different from before바카라. Because he is the only third baseman. In the past, he has played with top-class third basemen in Korea, such as Kim Dong-joo, Lee Beom-ho, Hwang Jae-gyun, and Heo Gyeong-min, but this time he is the only professional third baseman. Ha-seong Kim (San Diego Padres) can also play third base, but he mainly played as a shortstop in his team. Because of this, Choi Jeong’s shoulders became heavier.

Choi Jeong-eun is training at the 2023 Spring Camp in Vero Beach, Florida, USA. He is raising his sense of practice faster than usual to participate in the WBC. Choi Jeong-eun said, “I am quickly raising my sense of the game, so I am stressed out.

He said, “I looked at the list, and I was the only third baseman. There were no Hwang Jae-gyun and Heo Gyeong-min. In a short game, it is correct that a player in good condition should go out, but now I have to do it alone. Kim Ha-seong can also play as a third baseman, but I am the only professional third baseman. I thought I had to do better,” he added.

There are good memories from WBC, but there are moments I want to forget. In the 2009 competition, I enjoyed the moment of runner-up. However, in 2013, he suffered the humiliation of failing to advance to the second round for the first time in his history. Choi Jeong-eun looked back on the past, saying, “I feel excited and happy when I think of the good grades. The first time I entered the national team, I was runner-up. However, in the second WBC, I was eliminated. It was so empty that I couldn’t remember if I played.”

Maybe this competition could be the last Taegeuk mark. Choi Jeong-eun wants to decorate a splendid finale with good grades. He raised his voice, saying, “I’m trying to repay for being selected. I want to do a good job. I want to do well regardless of my age.”
