Lotte tied the game at 3-3 when Yoo Kang-nam singled on a pitch in front of Kiwoom centre fielder Dawson. The Giants retired the next five batters in a row, including Kim Min-seok, to take a 4-3 lead.

Lotte immediately ran into trouble in the top of the fifth inning. Lee In-bok gave up a leadoff single to Lee Yong-kyu and a walk to Kim Hye-sung. Lotte head coach Larry Sutton sent Shim Jae-min to the mound in place of Lee In-bok. Lee left the game after giving up three runs and six hits in four innings.

Han Hyun-hee, who took the mound after Shim Jae-min, struck out the first batter he faced, Lee Won-seok, but gave up an outfield sacrifice fly to Song Sung-moon to tie the game at 4-4. Han struck out the sixth batter, Kim Gun-hee, on an outfield grounder to end the inning without allowing another run and tie the game at 4-4 in the top of the fifth.

Lotte faced a run-scoring threat in the top of the sixth inning. Han Hyun-hee, who was also on the mound in the sixth inning, gave up an infield single to leadoff hitter Joo Sung-won and a walk to Lee Ji-young before being replaced by Koo Seung-min with runners on first and second.

Choi Jun-yong was hit by a 1-2 pitch from Kim Hye-sung. However, right fielder Yoon Dong-hee made a strong shoulder catch of Kim Dong-heon at home plate to deny Lotte the lead. Lotte fought back in the bottom of the eighth. Goodrum led off the inning with a walk and stole second against Kiwoom pitcher Kim Jae-woong. LOTTE head coach Lee Jong-woon, who was in charge of the dugout in place of the ejected Sutton, brought in Jeon Jun-woo to pinch-hit for Lee Jeong-hoon. Jeon Jun-woo pinch-hit for Lee Jeong-hoon. Jun-woo took the second pitch from Kim Jae-woong and smashed his eighth home run of the season over the left field fence. Lotte quickly tied the game at 6-6 after allowing Kiwoom to come back.

Lotte sent Kim Won-joong to the mound in the ninth inning to close out the game. He got off to a good start by getting the first batter, Kim Soo-hwan, to ground out to third base. He then got Kim Byung-hwi to ground out to the catcher for the second out. Kim Won-joong then struck out the ninth batter, Kim Dong-heon, to set the stage for the team’s victory.

Head coach Lee Jong-woon was called upon again in the ninth after Yoo Kang-nam and Kim Min-seok were retired on infield grounders. Hwang Sung-bin was brought in to pinch-hit for Noh Jin-hyuk. Noh drew a walk to lead off the inning and was replaced by Jang Doo-seong with one out. However, Yoon Dong-hee flied out to right field. Lotte and Kiwoom went into extra innings.

Kim Won-joong took the mound in the 10th inning. He struck out the first batter, Kim Jun-wan, with three pitches. He then struck out Kim Hye-sung, leaving only Han Gobi on base. After Ahn Chi-hong and Jeon Jun-woo singled and struck out, Shin Yun-hoo stole second base to put runners on second and third. Han Dong-hee hit a grounder to shortstop but was thrown out at second on a fielding error by Kiwoom shortstop Kim Byung-hwi. Lotte had runners on second and third.
