“Milana arrived in Korea via Incheon Airport on Jan. 1,” the club announced. She will travel to Gumi on Feb. 2 to join the Ginseng squad and watch the women’s Group A match between Ginseng and Pepper Savings Bank at the Korea Volleyball Organization (KOVO) 2023 Gumi Dodram Cup Professional Volleyball Tournament.

Milana was selected by Ginseng with the third overall pick in the V-League Women’s Foreign Player Draft held in May in Istanbul, Turkey.

The 6-foot-2 outside hitter is described by the club as having “fast play, good strength, and stable reception.”

Milana played collegiately at Maryland and Baylor before starting her professional career in Puerto Rico in the 2020-21 French Ligue. He then played two seasons in Italy’s Serie A2 (second division).

Last season, he played 30 games for CDA Talmassons, scoring 447 points. “Call me Gia,” Milana told the club after arriving in Korea.

“I am very excited to play volleyball in Korea,” she said, “and I will do my best to help my team do well this season. I’ve been lifting weights all summer, so I’m very fit and muscular.”

“I can’t wait to meet the fans at the stadium,” said Milana, adding, “I’m also very happy to receive a gift of red ginseng as a surprise.” Ginseng Corporation head coach Ko Hee-jin also has high hopes for the new foreign player.

“She will energize the team with her powerful offense,” he said.
