One day in Incheon, one day in Changwon, one day in Daegu, two days in Daejeon 3G. Play, pack…Started in second place, six games in five days in four cities…[SC Focus].
토토사이트Managers would rather have two or three games canceled when an away game is rained out. It’s easier to organize the rest of the schedule if you have two or three games in a row. If you play one game at a time, it can be more work to pack than to play.
This is the case for KT Wiz this week.
After playing all six games last week at home in Suwon, KT hits the road for the remainder of the week, but the schedule is tough. It’s not the usual three games in two locations. They’re going back and forth. This week, we’ll be traveling to four different venues.
On the 12th, we travel to nearby Incheon for an away game against SSG Landers before heading down to Changwon. On the 13th, we play one game against our second-place rivals, the NC Dinos, before packing up and traveling to Daegu. On the 14th, they take on the Samsung Lions and then have a day off. On the 16th and 17th, the team will play a three-game series against the Hanwha Eagles in Daejeon. The 17th is a doubleheader. That’s six games in five days in four locations.
Playing six games in one week is a normal schedule, but it’s physically demanding because we have to travel to different places every day for three days. Then you have a day off, but then you have to play three games in two days with a doubleheader, and that’s going to take its toll.
Fortunately, the starting rotation should be fine. Wes Benjamin is expected to start against SSG on the 12th. According to the rotation, Ko Young-pyo is expected to start against NC on the 13th and Samsung Electronics on the 14th. William Cuevas is likely to pitch against Hanwha on the 16th, and Kim and Benjamin are likely to pitch in the doubleheader against Hanwha on the 17th.

Last week, the team went 2-2-1 against the top-ranked LG and 1-1-1 against the then third-ranked SSG, giving them a 2-1-3 record. This is not bad for a match against a top team, but while KT faltered, NC and KIA followed closely behind. NC went 6-1 and KIA went 4-2. The gap between KT and third-place NC is now half a game, while it’s two games between fourth-place KIA and fifth-place SSG.
The first two games of the week against the top two contenders, SSG and NC, are crucial. On the 12th, Benjamin will face off against SSG’s Kwang-hyun Kim. Benjamin is 14-5 with a 3.83 ERA this season and is second in wins. Against SSG, he hasn’t fared so well, going 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA in two appearances. In his first start, on April 20 in Suwon, he gave up six runs on eight hits in six innings, but on May 2 in Incheon, he gave up three runs on six hits in six innings. Kim Kwang-hyun went 1-1 in two games against KT, but had a very good ERA of 1.50. On May 3 in Incheon, he pitched five innings of two runs (one earned) for the win, and on August 2 in Suwon, he pitched seven innings of one run and took the loss in a 0-1 loss. Unlike in the past, KT will need Benjamin to pitch well and the bats to hit well against Kim Kwang-hyun to get close to a win.
