Lee, who set the Korean record for girls’ secondary schools with a throw of 15 meters (22 feet) on April 14 at the National Chuncheon Junior High School Championships, beating Kim Yoo-jin’s 15 meters (21 feet) by one centimeter in 2016, broke the record with a throw of 15 meters (53 feet) on the KBS boat on April 6, and then set another record 21 days later.

In her last three competitions, Lee has set the Korean record for middle school girls.

“I’m happy to set the Korean record for girls’ middle school for the third time in a row,” Lee said after the competition, “and I hope to break my own record in the next competition.”
