Go Seung-min, who can play outfield and first base, is back…”There are a lot of injured players, and my physical condition is 100%” [Sugyeong X entry].

Lotte’s Go Seung-min has returned to the first team.

메이저놀이터 Go Seung-min was added to the first-team roster for the game against NC on March 3 at Sajik Stadium in Busan.

Go Seung-min was removed from the first team roster on July 6 after suffering a finger injury while sliding head-first in the fifth inning against Hanwha in Daejeon. The diagnosis at the time was a torn medial ligament in his left thumb. The rehabilitation period was about four weeks, and he returned to the first team in just over a month.

Prior to the injury, Ko was batting .241 with two home runs, 22 RBIs and seven stolen bases in 69 games.

“We had a lot of injuries, so we called him up,” said Lotte manager Larry Sutton. “He’s been preparing. He’s been taking pitches in the outfield and first base during training.”

Go Seung-min is registered as an outfielder, but he will also play first base. “At the beginning of the season, he was mostly playing first base, but at this point, we’re going to give him some experience in the outfield and first base to balance things out,” Sutton said. “Jung-soon is at first base, but he can’t play all six games in one week, so he’ll play first base in the middle of the week.”

On the day, Ko Seung-min was not immediately named to the starting lineup. Yoon Dong-hee (right fielder), Kim Min-seok (center fielder), Nigel Kudrum (third baseman), Jeong Hoon (first baseman), Jeon Jun-woo (designated hitter), Park Seung-wook (second baseman), Noh Jin-hyuk (shortstop), Jung Geun-geun (catcher), and Ahn Kwon-soo (left fielder). The starting pitcher is Park Se-woong.
