South Korea secured a comfortable victory over Japan 76-69 in the 2023 Men’s Basketball National Team Trials at Jamsil Student Gymnasium in Seoul on 22 February.

Yang Hee-jong’s retirement ceremony was held at halftime after the second quarter of the game. Yang first donned the Korean flag at the 2006 Doha Asian Games and played for the national team for more than a decade until the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. At the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, she helped South Korea win the gold medal.

With his retirement, the Korean Basketball Association organised a retirement ceremony for him, presenting him with a bouquet of flowers and a plaque of merit.
