‘Blueshirts come from behind’ to beat KC 5-4…stay in 3rd AL wild card spot

토스카지노Toronto beat Kansas City 5-4 on Monday (Sept. 9) at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

With the win, Toronto improved to 78-63 on the season and remained in third place in the American League East.

The Jays remained in the postseason hunt in third place in the wild-card standings, behind the Tampa Bay Rays and Seattle Mariners. Prior to today’s game, the Jays trailed the fourth wild-card spot, the Texas Rangers, by 0.5 games.

Toronto fell behind 1-0 before tying the game in the bottom of the sixth on Beau Bichette’s double with runners on first and third.

After giving up another run in the top of the seventh to cut the lead to 1-2, Toronto rallied in the bottom of the seventh.

With runners on first and second, Bichette singled to tie the game and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. followed with a two-run double to put the game out of reach.

Ernie Clement added an RBI single to make it 5-2.

Toronto scored one run in each of the eighth and ninth innings, but could not mount a comeback. Closer Jordan Romano struck out four to preserve the win. He improved to 5-5 with his 33rd save of the season.

With the second straight loss, Kansas City remained in last place in the American League Central with a 44.98 record.
